Na
sequência de uma investigação relacionada com o negócio do plasma em Portugal
entre 1999/2000, e que envolve a Companhia e a atuação do então vice-presidente
da área, Paulo de Castro, que apresentou nesta quarta-feira ao Conselho de
Administração da Octapharma seu pedido de demissão de todas as funções, como
anunciou a farmacêutica, em comunicado em seu site:
Na
sequência das referidas diligências, e de forma a focar-se na resposta às
alegações que sobre si recaem, o Exmo Sr. Paulo Lalanda de Castro apresentou ao
Conselho de Administração da Octapharma A.G. a demissão de todas as funções que
desempenha na Companhia, incluindo as exercidas em Portugal, a qual foi
aceite”, refere o comunicado enviado esta quarta-feira à noite à agência Lusa.
Paulo
de Castro que já estava afastado há anos das operações com o Brasil, desde as
operações vampiros e sangue suga, cujos processos já foram julgados e tramitam
em fase conclusiva, agora se afasta completamente da Octapharma para responder
às demandas locais.

Lachen, Switzerland,
December 14th, 2016: In the context of judicial assistance provided by
Switzerland to the authorities in Portugal today, a board member of Octapharma,
Mr Paulo Castro, has been subject to inquiries for providing inducements to a
health official in Portugal.
Octapharma is fully
cooperating with the authorities and providing all assistance with their
investigations.
Paulo Castro has effective
today, offered his resignation from his position with Octapharma, in order to
focus on responding to these allegations.
Octapharma fully supports
Paulo Castro and looks forward to letting these investigations run their proper
course, and we are fully confident that Castro will be cleared of any
wrongdoing.
Octapharma was founded in
1983 and Paulo Castro has worked with Octapharma since 1988; during these 33
years there have not been any previous findings against the Company of
providing inducements to stakeholders anywhere in the world.
